Software Updates
For those of you who try to use obsolete software found somewhere on internet: don't try to use old firmware updater utility (more then a year old) on the unit which has a newer firmware version. You would kill your unit trying to downgrade the firmware version. I though that this is obvious, but some of you are still trying to do this. Use drivers/utilities from this page instead. Windows Driver update: 2009-05-31 - windows driver version 3.4.0.110 is released (for both Windows versions, 32- and 64-bit). Two branches: Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 - genpix_3.4.0.110_WinXP. Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 (works on Windows 7 as well) - genpix_3.4.0.110_Vista. 2007-09-17 - older driver version 1.8.120.0 (both, x86 and x64 versions) - here. TSReader Source DLL update: 1.8 - TSReader_Genpix_Unified interface - here. fixes/changes: - has increased tuning time-out for transponders with low Symbol Rate - supports new firmware only (2.13.x and up for SkyWalker family, and 2.10.x for adapter Rev.2) - added support for fec = 2/3 and 5/6 for Turbo-QPSK modulation (you have to use TSReader version released on 02/03/2010 or later) 1.6.2 - TSReader_Genpix_Unified interface - here. fixes/changes: - fix bug of incorrect tuning status return in Quiet mode; - "failed to lock" modal window is changed from MB_ICONERROR to MB_ICONEXCLAMATION 1.6 - TSReader_Genpix_Unified interface - here. Improved packet synchronization when tuned to DSS QPSK streams. Multi-card support (you may run several independent instances of TSReader if you have several cards installed). Improved DPP switches control. Improved tolerance to the noise on poorly grounded Dish/coax-cables. To use this interface Firmware of genpix devices should be upgraded to the latest version (see Utilities section). DVB-Dream interface update:
1.1.8 - Added support for new SkyWalker-1/-2 firmware ver. 2.13.x and 8PSK-to-USB2 Rev.2 firmware ver. 2.10.x. For compatibility reasons, older firmware versions are not supported. If you use older firmware, use interface ver.1.1.6 instead. Should be copied in \Devices folder (to avoid conflict, please keep just one version of genpix interface in this folder) - Download. 1.1.6 - Genpix Unified Device interface for DVB Dream v.1.3 (and newer). Works with all Genpix devices (8PSK-to-USB2, 8PSK-to-USB2 Rev.2, SkyWalker-1). Multi-card support. Improved DPP switches control. Improved tolerance to the noise on poorly grounded Dish/coax-cables. Should be copied in \Devices folder (to avoid conflict, please keep just one version of genpix interface in this folder) - Download. SmartDVB:
0.0.5 - Added support for new SkyWalker-1/-2 firmware ver.2.13.x and 8PSK-to-USB2 Rev.2 firmware ver.2.10.x - Download. Utilities SkyWalker-1 updater - updates firmware of Genpix SkyWalker-1 to version 2.13.x (x depends on PCB revision used by SkyWalker-1). New DVB Dream (ver.1.1.8 and newer), TSReader (ver.1.8 and newer), SmartDVB (ver.0.0.5) interfaces have to be used to be able to use extra features of this firmware. GPreset ver.1.5 - new command prompt utility to Reset Firmware (resets internal variables, switches OFF power of 8PSK module and LNB). Utility allows to reset the adapter after crash of DVB application. Works only if USB communication is still alive. Otherwise, power-cycle is the only solution to reset the adapter. fw_update ver.2.1.2 - previous version of firmware updater for genpix devices. Updates firmware of 8PSK-to-USB2 Rev.2 to version 2.08.4, and firmware of SkyWalker-1 to version 2.10.x. All these versions has improved tolerance to the noise on poorly grounded Dish/coax-cables. |
